The Gulf Center for Disease Prevention and Control has reaffirmed the dedication of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to supporting international initiatives aimed at combating antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In alignment with global efforts to tackle this pressing issue, GCC countries are actively working to enhance preventive policies and develop awareness programs that promote responsible antibiotic use, emphasizing coordination across relevant sectors.

During the 4th Global High-Level Ministerial Conference on AMR, held in Jeddah from November 15 to 16, the center underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing the escalating challenges posed by antimicrobial resistance, a significant threat to global public health.

The conference served as a vital platform for experts to discuss the challenges and solutions related to AMR, one of the most critical health issues worldwide. It aimed to unify global efforts under the "One Health" approach, fostering the development of effective and sustainable solutions while enhancing countries’ readiness to combat this alarming phenomenon.
